How much does NES cost?
Nothing: NES is free and requires no account.
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”
That is SmartScreen: the installer is not signed yet. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. To make sure the file is the right one, compare its SHA-512 checksum, published on the Download page, with the one PowerShell gives: Get-FileHash .\NES-Setup-<version>.exe -Algorithm SHA512.
The overlays have a black background
On some graphics cards, a transparent window can show a black background. Turn on Settings > General > “Compatibility mode” (in French: « Mode compatibilité »), then restart NES: hardware acceleration is turned off and the overlays become transparent again.
The overlays do not show in game
Exclusive fullscreen is not supported. Set League of Legends to borderless window (Game settings > Video > Window mode). Also check, on the Overlays page of NES, that the overlay is on and when it shows (always, while Tab is held, on a hotkey). Alt+Shift+H hides or shows all overlays.
Where is my data?
On your PC: settings, game database (%APPDATA%\NotEnoughStats\nes.db) and logs. NES has no account and no telemetry. To erase everything, uninstall NES, then delete the %APPDATA%\NotEnoughStats folder. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do updates work?
NES looks for a new version at startup, then every 6 hours, never in champ select or in game. It downloads in the background; Settings > About then offers “Restart to update”, otherwise it installs when NES closes.
Does NES follow Riot’s rules?
NES only uses the official APIs, does not read game memory and never plays for you. The options Riot considers non-compliant are off by default. Everything is detailed on the Riot rules page.
How do I stop NES?
NES stays in the notification area: closing the window puts it back there. Right-click its icon, then “Quit” (« Quitter »).
